A Local project for Local people Local is a new creative practice based in Greater Manchester and the Peak District, connecting artists, communities and ideas to make places better and more sustainable through creative, action-led research and engagement activities. Our work is driven by our values - collaboration, multidisciplinary, creativity and embedded in place. We take our inspiration from the Local environment, collaborate with Local people to co-create new Local cultural narratives and experiences, enhancing pride in place and identity. Local co-founders have over 35 years experience designing, delivering and evaluating cultural projects in the public realm, placing artists and local communities at the heart of our work. Local was established in November 2021 and is part of KIN.DER, a creative cooperative space in Glossop.
