The fantastic Northern Lights - Tameside Christmas Celebration will light the way to the start of Tameside's festivities on Saturday 19th November 2022 in Ashton-under-Lyne. The event will also kick-start the first ever Festive Window Trail in Ashton, for families to enjoy over the Christmas period, adding extra sparkle to the festivities.

Saturday 19th November

 

Ashton, 3-6:30pm

Northern Lights -Tameside’s Christmas Celebration

3pm - 5pm Festive Window Trail

‍5pm - 6:30pm Performances on the stage

‍5:30pm - 6:30pm Northern Lights Christmas Lantern Parade

Come and join us in Ashton town centre for our spectacular lantern parade featuring bands, puppets and dancers, plus lots of other entertainment and attractions.

Father Christmas will be switching on the Christmas lights at 6.30pm live on stage.

On the square on Fletcher Street there will also be a snow globe to take photos in throughout the day.

Friday 25th November

 

Micklehurst, 6-7pm

Micklehurst Green corner of Micklehurst Rd and Station Rd

Gathering with (electronic) lanterns with music from Micklehurst choir and local brass band.

Switch On Time 6:30pm

 

Audenshaw, 4-8pm

Ryecroft Hall

 

Small children’s fun fair, live local entertainment and Santa’s Grotto.

Switch On Time 7.30pm

 

Stalybridge, 5-9pm

Armentieres Square

Stalybridge Street Fest with on stage entertainment, a funfair and traditional light switch on.

Switch On Time 7.15pm

 

Dukinfield, 5.30-7pm

Dukinfield Town Hall

 

Music, funfair, Christmas post box and Father Christmas on his Sleigh.

Saturday 26th November

Denton, 12noon – 7pm
Civic Square

Funfair rides, food stalls, Santa and traditional Christmas light switch on. Additional activities will take place on Sunday 27th November.

Mossley, 4-7pm
Market ground car park

 

Lanterns, brass bands, music, choirs and dancers and Christmas tree light switch on

Hyde, 3-7pm
Hyde Market Ground

With market stalls, a small funfair and lantern parade.

Sunday 27th November

Denton, 12noon – 5pm
Civic Square

Funfair rides and Children’s Christmas Party with Mascots and Characters from Hyde Fund Raisers. The Christmas light switch on will take place on Saturday 26th November.

Friday 2 December

Hattersley, 4-8pm
Hattersley Hub

Indoor Market stalls and Santa’s Grotto with seasonal food and drink.

Saturday 3 December

Droylsden, 1pm-5.30pm
Villemomble Square

Artisan Market from 10am. Dance performances from local dance schools and Mossley Morris Men in the evening.
