This Easter, Tameside is buzzing with creative, family-friendly events perfect for all ages! Whether you're looking for hands-on crafts, outdoor adventures, or just some good old-fashioned fun, there's something for everyone. Here's a sneak peek at some of the exciting activities happening around the area:

🌿 Stick Man Workshop & Self-led Trail (Dukinfield Library & Park)
On Tuesday, 8 April, join in for a free drop-in workshop at Dukinfield Library and follow the self-led trail to help Stick Man reunite with his family in the park. It's the perfect mix of creativity and adventure!

Easter Bonnet Drop-in Family Workshop

Wednesday, 16 April 2025,  11am-3pm, Portland Basin Museum

Hop over to Portland Basin Museum and get crafty by creating your own Eggtastic Easter bonnet or hat! Enjoy a fun-filled, free family-friendly creative session while exploring the museum. 🐰

🐑 Spring Craft Workshops

Over at Portland Basin Museum, enjoy a range of fun craft sessions:

Fluffy Spring Lambs (8 April) – Create adorable woolly lamb decorations using recycled materials.

Pom-Pom Pea Pods (10 April) – Print your own cardboard pea pod and create tactile pom-pom peas.

Spring Pop-up Garden (15 April) – Design your own paper pop-up garden inspired by the museum's beautiful canal.

Wax Resist Egg Pictures (17 April) – Explore batik techniques and make brightly decorated eggs in a paper plate nest.


The Make,Play and Do sessions are £1.35 per child, and there will be plenty of opportunities for children to get creative and learn new skills.

“Sound” is the theme for their next holiday programme at Tameside Libraries and there are two sets of free, drop-in activities: “Soundhoppers” and “Make some Noise”.

“Make some Noise”, where children of all ages are welcome, offers hour-long craft sessions focused on sound.

They take place on:

Thursday 10 April (2pm) at Denton Library,

Friday 11 April (10.30am) at Mossley Library,

Monday 14 April (10.30am) at Hyde Library and Wednesday 16 April (2pm) at Stalybridge Library.

“Soundhoppers” is a deep listening and sound exploration workshop where five to 11-year-olds can find new ways of making sound through sonic workshops and attentive listening.

Four 90-minute sessions have been organised:

Monday 7 April (1pm) at Dukinfield Library,

Wednesday 9 April (2pm) at Ashton Library,

Saturday 12 April (10.30am) at Droylsden Library and Thursday 17 April (2pm) at Hattersley Library.

These activities are a great way to keep the whole family entertained during the Easter holidays, with something special for everyone.
