Martin Clarke explores the fascinating history of Fairbottom Bobs, a Newcomen-type beam engine installed around 1760 near Ashton-Under-Lyne. Known as possibly the world's second-oldest surviving steam engine.

After the talk there will be tea, coffee, and biscuits andthe opportunity to talk to the speaker.
