There’s not just one or two but a total of nine community-led Christmas events taking place with one for each town to host their own unique Christmas celebration event and show their pride in their local area.
The most spectacular event of all is the borough’s annual Lantern Parade which is taking place in Hyde this year on Saturday 16 November to herald the start of the celebrations across Tameside
1pm-8pm
Parade starts at 5pm from Hyde Town Hall
Everyone is invited to join in and be part of the Lantern Parade, which brings joy, excitement and a guaranteed electric atmosphere every year. There will be a fantastic and magical parade of puppets, bands, dancers, and a fun-packed stage of performers leading up to Father Christmas switching on the town’s lights live on the night.
There are plenty of ways to join the excitement! Whether it’s crafting a lantern, performing on stage, or simply enjoying the event as a spectator, there’s something for everyone.
Email us at events@tameside.gov.uk to discover how you can take part and find out more at www.intameside.co.uk/lanternparade
