Tameside Cultural Services, part of Tameside Council is looking to work with local creative groups, artists and producers to deliver intimate works co-created with local businesses on Ashton Town Centre.
We are inviting visual artists / designers / illustrators to design and install an artwork either in or on a window on the high street to creating a trail of 12-lit artworks.
Each window artwork should be festive and will need to include a number (provided to you) which will be used to animate the art trail. We will promote window each day starting from Northern Lights - Tameside's Christmas Celebration taking place on Saturday 19th November. The art trail is intended todrive footfall to the high street during the Christmas shopping period.
An art trail map will be produced to encourage families to visit the artworks.
The installations or displays need to be in-situ until 6th January 2023 and must be lit during the evening/ night.
Example works can include:
Fee: £400 per window display including all materials. Some shops may light their windows at night, if the shop does not light its windows, the materials budget must include battery powered lighting to light the artwork.
Installation dates: Thursday 17th November to be ready for Saturday 19th November
Takedown dates: 7th - 10th January 2023

We welcome submissions from new and emerging artists as well as more experienced artists.
