Tameside is gearing up for an unforgettable summer with Theatre in the Park, Wild at Heart and Make, Do and Play uniting to offer five weeks of family-friendly activities in August. So fill your summer with exploration, creativity and magical storytelling experiences.
Wild at Heart
Discover the wonders of nature right at your doorstep with Wild at Heart. Join expert spotters in a race against time to identify diverse species that call Chadwick Dam home. Delight in foraging adventures, create enchanting land art, and listen to our storyteller in picturesque locations throughout Tameside. With activities tailored for families, these events offer a chance to connect with nature and unleash your child's creativity.

Make, Do and Play
Head to Portland Basin Museum and explore your child’s creative side with activities led by professional artists throughout the summer holidays. From making kites and sketchbooks to crafting picture postcards, these activities are perfect for letting creativity flow. You can also join us at Portland Basin Museum on Thursday 3rd August for Our Museum, a free family event day filled with interactive activities.

Theatre in the Park
We’ll once again be taking over parks in Tameside with an incredible line up of family theatre. Enjoy the enchanting tale of The Crew, as they set sail on a grand adventure, encountering mysteries and wonders beyond imagination. Laugh and be amazed by the whimsical Giant Balloon Show, where larger-than-life balloons take center stage in a spectacle of comedy and awe. Join Kronos the Wizard in The Crossroads Show, a magical quest filled with masks, puppets, and interactive storytelling. These live performances will ignite your child's imagination and leave the whole family captivated.
