At Portland Basin, the big news is that Jack is back! After a two-year gap caused by covid, local artist Jack Doyle is returning to lead 'Make, Do and Play' sessions.
Throughout the Easter holidays there will be four drop in sessions to make an Easter themed craft activity between 11am and 3pm on Tuesdays, April 12 and 19, and Thursdays, April 14 and 21.
Each workshop costs £1.25 per child and are suitable for all ages. These sessions are drop-ins, there is no need to book.
There will also be free trail throughout the Easter break for children to find the nesting chicks hidden around the museum.
After you've finished your craft session, you will be able to enjoy Portland Basin Museum. Enjoy our temporary exhibition, and step back in time on our recreated 1920s street. Take a look into our old-fashioned kitchen and parlour to find out how we used to live. Explore the area's industrial heritage and discover what life was like down the coal mines or in the cotton mills. Find out more about local crafts and industries and marvel at our historic machines. There are trails and hands-on things for children to do, and younger children will love playing shop in our indoor play area. You can find out more about visiting Portland Basin Museum here.
